rPAP is mentioned to be an option for improving care and smooth stabilisation
ERS on nasal Nasal interfaces
While facemasks are most commonly used, nasal interfaces (single or binasal short or long prongs or nasal masks) have been found to be as effective as facemasks. Emerging studies suggest nasal interfaces also reduce delivery room intubation and PPV use in infants <28 weeks). The ERC recommends performing PPV using either a facemask or nasal interfaces.
Snorri Donaldsson, first author of CORSAD held a presentation as invited speaker discussing interfaces and stabilisation. The new ERS guidelines have prongs as an alternative being supported by several trials

The CORSAD Trial
This academic study was inititated and coordinated by the researchgroup at Karolinska Institutet. It investigated the effect of rPAP compared to standard respiratory support in extremely preterm infant.
